A basic history of our Rally is below.
In December 2016 we had a small car rally (Crighton’s Sh&*%box Rally) with 6 cars. Initially this was to be Jasen’s (Crighton’s CEO) end of the year thanks to his workers, but after the local CanAssist branch was robbed it was decided to make it into a fundraiser for the branch. Sponsorship rights, sponsorship stickers, raffle tickets etc. were sold.
The cars travelled from Hay, and made their way to Cameron Corner stopping for the night at at Pack Saddle. I'm quite sure the pub at Pack Saddle wasn't quite sure what had hit them, but their country hospitality shone through and the Ralliers had a great night of fun, as i'm sure the townsfolk did. They then headed east to Tibooburra, where they rallied in the great hospitality of a wonderful township. Sunday morning bought a new adventure with it, off to White Cliffs. And arrival at White Cliffs bought open arms from the samll township. The White Cliffs social club put on an excellent Roast Dinner for our hungry crews. The White Cliffs pub was the place to be after dinner for Kangaroo Court (more details of this is top secret, you'll have to ask someone who was there, LOL). As the sun rose on Monday morning, so did our ralliers. After enjoying a cooked breakfast they headed off on the long journey home to Hay. They arrived back in Hay around 6pm to a momentous applause from the towns people of Hay.
Alas poor "Golf Buggy" didn't make it home and secured a lovely outpost on one of the cliffs of White Cliffs. Also "Subuie" came home under tow thanks to Chris and Lisa Clark and "Mr Woo".
We raised an amazing $30+K in just over a month for our local CanAssist.
